Bjorn Lomborg writing in the Australian 15 June 2010,p.8,says “Europe sets crazy course on climate. Carbon policies will hit the economy without affecting global warming”.
This is just another chapter in the Lima Agreement that gave our industry and technology to China and India and the Third World. That was not enough for our rulers,we had to become the post-industrial society and stop all manufacturing and productive employment in the name of altruism,even if it means the collapse of Western society.
Lomborg says that the “European Union climate commissioner claims the global economic crisis and recession gave everybody a lucky break”.
“Commissioner Connie Hedegaard says the slowdown in economic activity will make it easier for the E.U. to achieve it’s 2020 goal of ensuring greenhouse gas emissions are 20 % below their 1990 level”.
“In fact,she believes cutting emissions has become so easy that European leaders should be more ambitious and unilaterally aim for a 30% reduction below the 1990 level –an idea that has support from Prime Minister David Cameron’s new British government.”
This is not good news “because there is a strong correlation between economic growth and carbon emissions. If you restrict carbon emissions without providing affordable alternative energy sources G.D.P. will falter.
In other words by advocating even deeper emission cuts,Hedegaard in in effect calling for an even deeper recession”.
The E.U. called for an increase in R &D spending but this has not happened,Europe would rather spend the money on social welfare. Anyway,anything of value invented would be given to the third world to manufacture and make the money on.
Europe seems to have given up and is pursuing a course that will consign itself to an ever-dwindling economic position in the world,with fewer jobs and less prosperity.
Australia is no better,Fraser inferred that Australia was not a manufacturing nation and except for the few involved in mining,most of our resources seems to be involved in making infra structure and houses for millions of non-productive migrants.
Some people make plenty of money but for the rest,third rate jobs will have to do. That is those the migrants are not given.
