Thatcher was right,the free market is the way to a vibrant world economy. What she did not realise was that the clever people in finance would make money whilst the less gifted would see their standard of living destroyed as all industry in the West followed capital investment and minimal wages to the third world.
Thatcher believed in the Protestant work ethic,post war affluent England felt that work was only part of life. The capitalists took their factories to China and left England to the migrants and the social democrats,(Labour party).
The Tories now have similar policies to Labour,most English people believe in social democracy whatever the cost.
But of course there is a flaw. Many of the working classes in England and Europe have had enough of migrants taking their jobs. The social democrats are no longer the party of the working classes,it is now the party of the middle class elite,even in Australia graduates Rudd and Gillard lead our socialists.
In England and Europe the social democrats are losing their support base and some of them know it. Rudd went to a special meeting of Europe’s social democratic parties in England,the subject “An Inclusive Globalisation;Promoting Prosperity for all “;Roger Liddle from Policy Network,the New Labour think tank that organised the conference,has pointed out,as recently as 2000 no fewer than eleven of the then fifteen European states had social democratic or center-left prime ministers. Today there are only four.
The vote is not going to the Right but to the new Left. Many Social Democrat leaders refuse to take the new party seriously even though it has allied itself to Islamic parties in the Netherlands and Brussels.
Wouter Bos,the leader of the Dutch Labour Party,has been thinking long and hard about the social democratic predicament. He is concerned about what the threat from the Left means not only in Holland but across Europe.
His analysis is important. He sees European social democracy in it’s present form under attack. He sees Europe breaking up “the growth of diversity and fragmentation in European societies that are caused mainly by the impact of the dynamic and destructive forces of globalisation on everyday life. People are becoming more divided in their own interests and not just by class and gender but by ethnicity,religion,education,family,work and career patterns as well as in their incomes and the amount of wealth and power they enjoy”.
“We are seeing traditional mechanisms that once fostered cohesion in our societies replaced by forces that divide. These perceived forces are individulalism and fragmentation and they reflect the dramatic transformation of European economies and societies that began in the early 1980′s. Manufacturing is no longer the dominant force in most countries in Europe and the size of the manual working class has shrunk as a result”. Rudd is no fool,why do you think he has become hard on migrants? He knows Australia is breaking up too. Unions will fight each other,Graduates destroy the manual workers (Post Industrial Society),bankers and capitalists destroy our society for their gain,third world migrants create their own enclaves for survival.
China and India will survive as societies. We will destroy ourselves if we do not stop globalisation.
The E.U. in Brussels is trying to destroy Europe’s borders,if they succeed Europe is finished.
As for Australia,we do not need the Tamil Tiger Army invading us.
By the nature of our country we are individuals but if we do not find common ground to hold together we will fall to China and/or India.
In England thing are different,a new party of the Right,The English Defense League,is now contesting the social democrats control of the streets. Drawing support from the football crowds and organised by angry ex-army people,they will probably be prepared to meet any escalation in violence by the Muslims.
England could be preparing to fight against the invading hordes from the third world,so too Italy and Germany,but the rest of Europe will accept the Social Democrats policy of multi-racialism.
Will Labor in Australia go down the same path as Blair and Brown?
