According to The Advertiser 30.5.09,p.63 the French president’s officials decided that the 65th D-Day anniversary commemorations in France were only for the French and the Americans.
What about the thousands upon thousands of British troops who died in that god-forsaken country? My father survived Dunkirk and still the soldiers returned to continue helping the French. Why did they? Even more so why did the Commonwealth countries go to the aid of the French when the chips were down.
The answer to this moron of a president is to boycott France, don’t holiday there and do not buy French products. They need you when it matters then toss you aside when they don’t.
I am not a great lover of the Queen but not to invite her is an insult to Her Majesty and the people of the Commonwealth. Also to the service men who fought for the freedom of the French and the so called Free World.
Maybe it would have been better to have let the Germans have France and Britain to have become isolationist like America was until 1941. A few more Britons may be alive today, certainly their offspring would and we would never have had any need for migrants to help over populate the country.
Puffin in memory of my dad.
