More and more evidence is being produced to show that the letter sound relationship of phonics-based reading methods are best.

N.S.W. Education Minister,Verity Firth,announced last week the Nation’s first direct comparison of phonics-based reading methods and other techniques. Professor of Education at Wollongong University,Brian Cambourne,proposes flooding Ms. Firth’s office with emails that associate phonics-based approaches with failure “at an almost subconcious level”. In other words brain washing.

Professor Cambourne has suggested that reading by phonics is “readicide”which he defines as a noun meaning the systematic killing of the love of reading,often exacerbated by the inane,mind numbing practices found in schools.”He mentions Chinese and hieroglyphic scripts as evidence that decoding sounds in the written word is not a prerequisite for being able to read alphabetically based scripts. Is he suggesting that we go back to pictograms?

Perhaps he wants us to prepare for the coming take over by China. You need 1,500 characters to read a Chinese paper,26 to read a European paper. I rest my case.

Another case of ‘subliminal’activities is global warming caused by man.

The International Conference on Climate Change has been held in New York. One of the keynote speakers was economist Dr. Vaclav Klaus,President of the Czech Republic and President Pro–tempore of the E.U. who said:Climate changes cannot be subsumed under the hypothesis of (man made) global warming. This claim is based exclusively on very imperfect computer models.

Believers in this hypothesis are not able to explain why the global temperature increased from 1918 to 1940,decreased from 1940 to 1976,increased from 1976 to 1998 and decreased from 1998 to the present,irrespective of the fact that people have been adding increasing amounts of CO2 to the atmosphere.

Three senior Japanese scientists separately engaged in climate change research have strongly questioned the validity of the man made global-warming model that underpins present theory. (The Advertiser,17.3.09,p.17 and The Weekend Australian 14-15.3.09,p.13.)
