Globalism may be the product of American Capitalism,but all major purveyers of cant and dogma see the break up of nationalism as a means of advancing their particular creeds.
The collapse of the world’s financial sector and the increasing violence in places such as Greece,Thailand,Africa,Pakistan and Afghanistan supports the view that Democracy is no longer the best form of government for many people. In Greece,Thailand and Pakistan it is the middle class who have been demonstrating against the Government.
They now form a powerful and well organised group in many countries and a democratically elected government that they do not control does not suit them.
The fight between the middle class and the Unions can only bring chaos.
The Liberal party has in the past supported Capitalism,but the question is now,why should it in the future?
Many large Australian firms are evenhanded in their support for Liberal and Labor and make equal donations to both parties. Now the Business Council of Australia and the Australian Industries group are not prepared to criticize th Government’s Fair Work Industrial reform agenda even though the power of the Unions will be increased,“Liberal strategists have no time for the Business Council of Australia or the Australian Industry Group and more particularly,whom they believe has taken a soft line on the Government’s Fair Work industrial reforms.”(The Australian,16.12.08,p.12,Malcolm Colless.)
The Liberal party receives few favors from the Capitalists in our society so there is no reason why the Liberal party should continue to protect them. The Lima agreement and Globalisation both supported by American and World Capitalism saw the flight of investment and Industry to the Third World and are the real reason for the collapse of our economy.
Labor is no better for us than Capitalism,we can never hope to become an Industrial nation if the Unions control the country.
There is a large group of Australians no longer represented in Parliament. The Liberal party that has supported Capitalism for so long now finds that Capitalism prefers Labor. Labor on the other hand will never give up it’s support for the Union movement. Democracy is no longer working,pressure groups take to the streets and Governments listen. We need a new party that will take on Capitalism and Labor and we need to support it by street demonstrations if that is the only way to gain the ear of government.
The Liberal democracies have tried since WW2 to make the world’s despotisms Democratic and in the process our democracies are becoming tyrannies.
In a true democracy nation changing decisions,such as the Lima Agreement,Globalisation and the breaking of the White Australia policy,should have been debated and put to a referendum.
Up to WW2 the landed gentry controlled Britain and the British Empire,after WW2 the academics and the new middle class took over and what a bloody mess they have make of England and Australia.
Signs of chaos are increasing,rioters in Greece stop shops opening on Sunday. In Thailand elected government supporters take to the streets to oppose the middle class insurgents and masses of Africans are now fleeing across the Med. into Italy.
If governments bow to rioters in the streets them democracy will be a thing of the past.
