If the Prime Minister has picked education as a fighting issue to show who’s boss (Paul Kelly,The Weekend Australian,August 30/31,2008,p.21) then Rudd will be the greatest Prime Minister in Australia’s history.
As Kelly says “Education remains the front line of Australia’s culture war”,Kelly is right when he says “the white collar educational unions have the number,money and tactics to direct state government school policy and control much of the politics.”He is wrong when he says that Rudd’s natural allies are the parents. Any parent rich and strong enough to stand up to the teacher’s union sends it’s child to a private school.
Parents with children at public school say nothing for the sake of their children and hope for the best.
The Australian Labor Party knows all too well that it’s very existence depends on indoctrination by the schools,the Universities,the media and the Left wing Law,Literature and Art establishments. Thatcher and Howard could not break this conspiracy and if Rudd is successful he will have all Australia’s thanks. His only true ally is the private schools. He should fund these at the expense of the state schools. Can you imagine that!!!!!!
