The Roman Catholic Church still refuses to see the Elephant.

Thirty seven countries now have food shortages either by the increase of food prices or shortages and one of these is the Philippines,Gloria Arroyo is facing a mounting political crisis with threats of riots and military unrest over feared rice shortages.

The Philippines President is also under pressure to break with Catholic church teaching against birth control amid a fresh population explosion.

New figures show the poor archipelago nation’s population increased to 88.6 million last year,an annual increase of almost 2 million and the population increase since 2000 is 12 million. The forecast is for it to hit 100 million in 5 years.

The Philippines is the world’s largest rice importer and the price of rice has tripled. The international demand for rice is outpacing rice production and rice exporters such as India are restricting sales. Arroyo’s administration must now subsidise poor consumers at a loss of 1.3 billion dollars and it cannot now buy enough rice for it’s needs.

Hoarding rice by Chinese traders is fuelling anti-Chinese sentiment and former health minister,Alberto Romualdez, warned that the population could reach 100million in 5 years if the President kept requiring that the state follow Catholic Church teaching against artificial birth control.

The Philippines has the highest birth rate in South East Asia at an annual population growth rate of 2 per cent, double the regional average. However Arroyo relies on the powerful Catholic Church and the Army to keep her in power and she dare not go against church teaching.

In spite of denials by the catholic and other churches the N.G.O.s,socialist governments and other eminent idiots this problem is not created by global warming whatever,or is caused by the West’s materialism. It is the result of the poor in the third world having six or seven children as they are in the Philippines. It is a social problem caused by the poor.

The Pope and his cardinals live very well thank you. He talks about the greed and materialism of the West but he is not living in a mud hut on a bowl of rice a day.

To the West, our quality of life is important. Do not expect us to go back to a mud hut if the world’s poor drive up the globe’s population by another 2.5 billion by 2050.

Our resistance to the N.G.O.’s demands for money and food is increasing. If the Pope thinks that God will provide in the future he had better start praying because we cannot and will not.
