State education departments and many State school teachers tell us,whenever we institute checks on their performance, that we have a school system as good as any in the world. Well, may be as good as Englands. Even tony Blair said the english system was in dire straits, but neither he or Thatcher were able to do anything about it.
The Neo Marxists who run our schools believe that all people are equal and that belief means that if you cannot raise the level of the worst, you must make sure the best do not succeed.
Destroying the trade schools was one method and our lack of tradesmen now is the responsibility of Australia’s educators who failed to motivate the young and provide for their success in life.
In France and England their teachers simplified the teaching of our national languages to enable migrant children to cope.
In Australia our educators still insist of teaching reading by the whole word method. The system used by the Chinese to teach their pictograms. Perhaps our Marxist teachers hope to write English in pictograms after all why use phonetic writing if it is not used to learn how to pronounce a word. Why write ‘car’just draw a picture of one. (Schools still fail on reading,The Australian,30.4.07 P.2)
In South Australia the new selection process for teachers, instituted in May 2006,involved a two member panel of a school principle and an Australian Education Union member. (The Advertiser 17.5.07 P.13) without a representative from the Business Council of Australia is there any wonder that the products of our school system find little favour with employers or why in fact Howard prefers private schools.
The Labor party claims that Howard uses public money to promote his policies but there is no doubt that the public school system is the propoganda machine of the Labor party (the Workplace Relations Minister,Kevin Andrews in Parliament 29.11.06)
Perhaps the answer is to label individual state schools Liberal of Labor. Not paying for excellence in teaching suggest that the people running our schools are of low quality.
