State school curriculum are depriving our children of any hope of success in the Global World
The Left wing bigots who control our education system seem to believe that the object of education is to produce a society where no person stands above anyone else and excellence is discouraged.
The designers of our curriculum must be disciples of the Italian Marxist ANTONIO GRAANSCI who proclaimed “any revolutionary class in addition to capturing political power must secure cultural hegemony. To seal its victory such a class must challenge and oust (Its enemies) in the realms of religion, philosophy, art, morality, language and manners.” The extreme Left has failed to achieve political dominance but it sure has succeeded in the rest of the agenda and that is why it fights so hard to maintain its control of education, the key to all the others.
Asteron,a major financial group in Australia is the latest in a long line of Australian companies who have had to go overseas (India) to find suitable staff;they say that there are no suitably educated Australians. Asteron was prepared to help these Indians adjust to Australian conditions but the company did not consider Australians worth training.
For some years employers of apprentices have deplored the closure of trade schools, brought about by Left leaning State governments. Years 11 and 12 at school just make apprentices idle and do nothing for University entrants.
The Australian Defence Force Academy alarmed by the decline in Mathematical standards in High schools, will force almost half of its first-year engineering students to sit a remedial maths course. UNSW at ADFA senior lecturer Steven BARRY (The Australian 11.10.2006,p.4) said that first-year engineering students did not have the necessary grasp of basic algebra supposedly learnt in years 8,9 and 10.
In the James Cook University in Queensland 250 of the 400 first-year science students were this year forced to complete a 13 week high school level maths course.
The University of Western Australian no longer requires calculus in year 12 but gives catch up courses in calculus in the University.
In Western Australia there is no syllabus for maths and teachers are not required to devote any specified time to the subject!
Our present educators may say that schools should no longer be required to train students for tertiary studies. Well let’s divide the school system into two streams. One stream to educate the brighter students of concerned parents who want a good demanding education for their children. These students could study the International Baccalaureate.
The other stream of children of less demanding parents could study Marx and Lenin and enjoy their school days playing at being Union bosses and Politicians.
One thing is sure;our present educators cannot be trusted.
The South Australian State Education Minister Jane Lomax Smith (The Australian 11.10.2006,p.4) said that it was reasonable for the Australian Education Union to praise Fidel Castro’s totalitarian education system. You can expect little better from a minister in a Left leaning government, perhahap the SOBRIQUET Havana Jane might fit.
I do agree that one part of the system is good,Cuba’s teachers are paid $27 a month, but that is hard on the dedicated teachers who struggle against the system here.
