Macquarie University belongs in Asia

University Vice-Chancellor Di Yerbury does not believe in free speech when it covers topics such as the old white Australia policy (The Australian,27.7.05,p.5) and “invites” Professor Fraser,a member of the University,to resign. He supports the policy and Professor Yerbury denies that she had told him his comments would deter Asian students.

A minor Australian university such as Macquarie will not survive without large numbers of non-European students whose main intention in attending Macquarie is to obtain residence in Australia.

Multiculturalism is without question a danger to the host nation and we do not need Macquarie University in Australia. The government should “invite” the university to relocate to Asia.
